Volunteering helps you to stay informed and involved in your child's education. By volunteering, you will have a better understanding of what is happening in the classroom, and you can work with the teacher to support your child's learning.
It can also help to build a sense of community within the school. By working together with other parents, teachers, and staff, you can help to create a positive and supportive environment for all students.
By giving your time, you serve as a model for children, showing them the value of giving back to their community. Children see their parents and caregivers taking an active role in their education and community, and are more likely to develop a sense of civic responsibility.
Additionally, volunteering can also provide an opportunity for personal growth and fulfillment. It can be a rewarding experience to work with children, and the opportunity to use your skills and talents to make a difference in the school community.
Cafeteria Duty
This volunteer position includes finishing food preparation, such as making salads and transporting from kitchen to lunch room. Serving food onto trays, and engaging with students as necessary. Walking around to assist with opening packaging, safety monitoring, and assisting with spills expected. If you have small children that would need to be with you, we suggest signing up for recess duty (yay! a new playground for your littles!) as the lunchroom can be fast-paced a requires the volunteer's full attention. There is also a concern with safety as the cafeteria has equipment that will be hot and can be a potential safety concern. Thank you for understanding!
Recess Duty
This volunteer position will move students from the cafeteria to the blacktop, monitor students on the playground, and return them to their classroom hallway.
