Mrs. Weismiller is our second-grade teacher. She received both a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s of Education degree from Ball State University. She has been in the classroom for over 35 years. Mrs. Weismiller began working at St. Lawrence in 2001, teaching Kindergarten. She has been teaching 2nd grade at St. Lawrence for the last 17 years. Mrs. Weismiller is a past recipient of the “Blessed Mother Theodore Guerin Excellence in Education Award,” which recognizes the most outstanding teachers in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Weismiller just recently completed training on the Orton-Gillingham Approach. The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia.
She and her husband Kurt are members of St. Lawrence Parish and all three of her children are graduates of St. Lawrence School. Mrs. Weismiller enjoys shopping for antiques and traveling.
