Mrs. Jenkins is the Kindergarten teacher at St. Lawrence Catholic School. She graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a concentration in Primary Education. She has been in the classroom for 10 years, with 8 of those years teaching at St. Lawrence. Mrs. Jenkins just recently completed training on the Orton-Gillingham Approach. The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia.
Mrs. Jenkins is a member of the St. Lawrence Parish. In her spare time, Mrs. J. is probably scrolling through Pinterest or going glamping with her husband and two sons. She loves teaching at St. Lawrence because she feels that she can give back to her community. She also loves that she gets to teach the littlest ones about the amazing things Jesus did for us.
