Community Service

We require community service for grades 4-8 as part of a Catholic school curriculum to instill in students the importance of serving others and giving back to their community. It can also help students to develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of responsibility towards others.

Service hours requirement by grade are listed below:

4th - 2 hours
5th - 4 hours
6th - 6 hours
7th - 8 hours
8th - 10 hours

Catholic social teaching emphasizes the importance of taking care of the poor and vulnerable, and participating in community service can give students a concrete way to put this teaching into practice. Additionally, community service can help students to develop important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
